Reward worth the Sacrifice

Gold Award holder turned award leader, Kimita Bronton was recognized at the 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) for her contribution to The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Barbados. She was selected from a small group of four persons who were nominated. Accepting the accolade she said, “my adventure as an Award leader at times is challenging. It is hard work.  It is a lot of time away from home, a lot of nights out, a lot of hours, a lot of lunchtimes given up a lot of weekends etc... But it’s rewarding because to be able to see participants come from a stage where they are not confident or where they don’t believe in themselves it is good to actually see them achieve so much.”

In her nomination Kimita was described as instrumental in motivating others as she continues to be an inspiration to her participants, encouraging them to strive for excellence and to continuously improve and develop their skills.
